How we collect, use and protect your personal data — and how to get it back, corrected or deleted.
Last updated: 24 August 2026
This policy explains what we do with your personal data when you contact us, request a free inspection, become a customer, or simply browse this website. It is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Home & Business Solutions Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is a pest control and property maintenance company operating across London, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Merseyside, Cheshire and West Yorkshire.
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. That means we decide why and how your data is used, and we are legally responsible for it.

When you complete an enquiry form, call us, message us on WhatsApp or email us, we collect:
If you become a customer we also hold the records needed to carry out and evidence the work: appointment dates, treatment reports, products applied, photographs of the site where relevant, invoices and payment records.
When you visit this website we collect technical and usage data through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view, and the source that brought you to the site (for example a Google Ads click identifier, or UTM parameters in the link you followed). Our enquiry forms record the landing page, referring URL and device type alongside your submission so we can tell which campaigns generate genuine enquiries.
We do not ask for special category data (such as health or religious information), and we do not ask for payment card details through this website. Please do not send us this kind of information through the enquiry form.
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each use of your data. Ours are set out below.
| What we do | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry, call you back, arrange an inspection and quote | To give you the service you asked for | Steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Carry out the treatment or works and keep treatment records | To perform our contract with you | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Keep records of products applied and site conditions | Pest control is a regulated activity and records may be required | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Keep invoices and accounting records | Tax and company law | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Measure which adverts and pages produce enquiries | To run the business efficiently and not waste advertising spend | Consent for the cookies themselves; legitimate interests for the analysis (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f)) |
| Follow up on a quote you did not proceed with | To check whether you still need help | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Send service reminders or offers to existing customers | To keep protecting a property we have already treated | Soft opt-in under PECR reg. 22, with an unsubscribe option every time |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether our interest is overridden by your rights and concluded it is not, because the contact is limited, directly related to an enquiry you made, and easy to stop at any time.
We will only send you marketing by email or SMS if you are an existing customer or you asked us to, and always about services similar to the ones you enquired about. Every message includes a way to opt out, and you can also stop it at any time by emailing handbsolutionsuk@gmail.com or replying to any message. Opting out of marketing does not stop the operational messages we need to send about a booked visit.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the suppliers who make the service work, and only with what they need:
We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, for example to a regulator, a court, or to protect someone's vital interests.
Some of the suppliers above are based outside the United Kingdom, principally in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, that transfer is protected either by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, so that your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.
| Type of record | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that did not become a job | 12 months from your last contact, then deleted |
| Customer and treatment records | 6 years from the end of the work, to cover the limitation period for claims |
| Invoices and accounting records | 6 years from the end of the accounting period, as required by HMRC |
| Website analytics data | Up to 14 months |
| Marketing consent and opt-out records | For as long as needed to honour your choice |
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
To exercise any of these, email handbsolutionsuk@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. There is no fee, and we may ask you to confirm your identity before we release information.
This website uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function, and — with your consent — analytics and advertising cookies from Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Tag Manager. These tell us which pages and campaigns lead to enquiries. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not stop you using the site or contacting us.
Access to enquiry and customer records is limited to the people who need it to do the work. Accounts are protected by strong passwords and, where the provider supports it, two-factor authentication. This website is served over HTTPS, so anything you submit through a form is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever occurs that is likely to risk your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours and tell you directly where required.
Our services are aimed at property owners, tenants and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first at handbsolutionsuk@gmail.com so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain directly to the UK supervisory authority:

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date shown at the top. Material changes affecting how we use data you have already given us will be notified to you directly where we hold your contact details.
